Nik Wallenda makes historic Niagara Falls walk

Ontario (AP) — With thousands of fans riveted on his every step, daredevil Nik Wallenda walks 1,800 feet on a tightrope spanning across the mist-fogged Niagara Falls.

The crowds watched as he prepared on the U.S. side of the roaring falls, made his cautious decline toward the wettest portion of wire and then up toward the Canadian side.

The seventh-generation member of the famed Flying Wallendas took steady, measured steps amid the rushing mist over the falls as an estimated crowd of 125,000 people on the Canadian side and 4,000 on the American side watched. Along the way, he calmly prayed aloud.

Here is a photo gallery of Wallenda's journey.

Matt Cain Throws the 22nd Perfect Game in MLB History!

Matt Cain powered through the Houston Astros on Wednesday night, striking out a career-high 14 and tossing the first perfect game in San Francisco Giants history.

Cain's dominant outing in a 10-0 win over the Astros was the second perfect game in the major leagues this season and the 22nd of all time.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber tossed this year's first perfecto on April 21 against the Seattle Mariners.During an on-field interview with the studio crew of "MLB Tonight" on MLB Network, Cain was still coming to grips with the weight of his accomplishment.

"Honestly, I have no idea what it means. This is unspeakable right now. This is unbelievable," Cain marveled. "This is something that, obviously, [is] part of history, something that I'm going to remember forever. This is truly amazing right now."

The Giants put crooked numbers on the board in four of the first five frames to jump out to a large lead. By the later innings, the only drama remaining involved Cain's bid for a perfecto.

The closest call for Cain was saved by a stellar catch in right field by Gregor Blanco in the seventh inning to rob Schafer of what looked to a sure hit to the gap. An inning earlier, Giants left fielder Melky Cabrera also made a terrific snag to keep the Astros off the base paths.

See Ricky Laforge, 'New York Shower Hammers' Player, Scores Amazing Game-Winning Run

In extra innings at the Pennsylvania Kickball Classic, a kickball tournament in Harrisburg, Penn., Ricky Laforge of the "New York Shower Hammers" scored the game-winning run by somersaulting over the ball and reaching home plate, just before a player from the opposing team could tag him.

But the play didn't go uncontested. A player from Deja Vu Dynasty, opposing team, disagreed with the referee on the call. And as the slow-motion replay shows, it was very close. Even the guys on ESPN's Around the Horn couldn't come to a consensus on the call.

Netherlands 1-2 Germany UEFA Euro 2012 All goals and highlights

It was bad enough when they used to win with dour efficiency.

These days, though, we have to suffer Germany frolicking to victory with a swagger in their stride and with a crafty wink to the galleries.

Chelsea supporters would not have recognised Mario Gomez, the Bayern Munich striker who had the mother of all shockers in last month's Champions League Final, but filled the onion bag with a couple of absolute gems last night.

For an hour, at least, Arsenal fans would have performed a double-take at Robin Van Persie, the Footballer of the Year whose golden boots seemed to have turned to lead here in the Metalist Stadium these past few days.t might have been an exaggeration to claim that Holland still had hope but there seemed nothing left to lose. The introduction of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Rafael van der Vaart was intended to add the sort of edge that might cut the opposition's lead. Even so, the principal difficulty lay in keeping this contest taut.

There was a danger that Holland would gradually be drained of whatever traces of optimism were still left in them. Some of the hunger was gone from the match, but Germany were thorough, striving to attack if only to drain a little more hope out of the opposition.

Even their defender Mats Hummels demanded two saves in quick succession from Stekelenburg. Some of the tautness went out of the game, with Germany confident of the points and Holland as convinced of inevitable defeat.

These are sides that each have a taste for adventure, but only Germany seemed wise to indulge it. Holland, for their part, strove to show that there was still hope within them. Jérôme Boateng suffered for that when an attempt from Lukas Podolski smashed against him.

Holland, all the same, had not despaired. The gap was closed to 2-1 by Van Persie's unanswerable drive from the left. Belatedly there was tension to the night, but it soon vanished once more.

Euro 2012 Violence: Russian, Polish Hooligans Clash In Warsaw

Russian football fans clashed with police and Poland supporters in separate incidents in Warsaw tonight, shortly before the two teams were to meet in an emotionally charged match at Euro 2012.

Police said 10 people were injured; seven Poles, two Russians and one German. In what appeared to be the most violent incident, Polish football hooligans were seen attacking Russians, who responded violently.

The two sides, made up of dozens of men, kicked and beat each other in the face, while flares could be seen exploding in their midst.

Several people lay injured and bleeding on the ground, with one of them appearing to be seriously hurt. Poland and Russia fans were also seen fighting and throwing stones outside the stadium.

There were a number of other incidents as well, which came as about 5,000 Russia fans waving their country's flag marched to the stadium in a show of patriotism seen as provocative to many Poles. One Russian who didn't have tickets to the game, but made the two-day car trip from Moscow simply to be in be the city, said it was wrong for the Russians to march in Warsaw given the countries' troubled history.

"The march, it wasn't right. It was a provocation. It shouldn't happen like this. But there are also aggressive Poles and we are scared here," said the 26-year-old man, who gave only his first name, Petya.

He and a friend had hoped to cross a bridge leading from the city center to the stadium to soak up the atmosphere in the area. But they gave up that notion and were sitting outside, sipping on beers from a distance, and were about to go watch the match on TV in an apartment with friends.

In recent days, Polish media have tried to stir up nationalistic sentiments over the match, suggesting the encounter would be more than a simple football competition. Newspapers Monday were full of dramatic references to Poland's victorious 1920 battle against the Bolshevik Army, known as the Miracle on the Vistula.

LA Kings win first Stanley Cup

The Los Angeles Kings' 45-year quest for an NHL title ended Monday night with an early flurry of power-play goals, followed by two periods of unbearable anticipation - right up to the moment when Dustin Brown snatched the Stanley Cup from Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Brown skated to center ice and thrust the 36-pound silver trophy skyward, the captain never flinching under the weight. Long-suffering L.A. fans, who had never even seen hockey's greatest prize, went crazy.

The Kings are NHL champions for the first time, and all the men in black played a role in this Tinseltown blockbuster.

Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis scored two goals apiece, playoff MVP Jonathan Quick made 17 saves in his latest stellar performance, and the Kings beat the New Jersey Devils 6-1 in Game 6 of the finals, becoming the first eighth-seeded playoff team to win the league title.

Brown had a goal and two assists for Los Angeles, which ended its spectacular 16-4 postseason run in front of a crowd including several dozen Kings faithful who have been at rinkside since the team's birth as an expansion franchise in 1967. Every other year ended unhappily.Brown scored 53 seconds in, slickly redirecting Drew Doughty's low pass in front for his first goal since the Western Conference finals opener. Brown's physical play and goal-scoring in the first-round series against Vancouver set a tone for the entire playoffs, but New Jersey had effectively shut him down until Game 6.

Carter then scored his seventh goal of the postseason after Brown walked the puck out of the corner and fired a shot at Brodeur's glove side while skating away from the net. The midseason acquisition has been a dependable scorer ever since he was reunited with longtime Philadelphia teammate Mike Richards on the Kings' second line.

With the Los Angeles crowd on its feet, the Kings added another as rookie Dwight King ferociously drove the net and left a rebound for Lewis, who tucked it home for his first goal in 18 games. Staples Center was deafening for the rest of the first period, and Los Angeles went up 4-0 just 90 seconds into the second when Brown found Carter unchecked in the slot for a one-timer.

NOTES: The Kings are the first team to clinch the Stanley Cup on their home ice since the Anaheim Ducks did it five years ago. They're also just the second No. 8 seed ever to make the finals. Edmonton lost in seven games in 2006. ... Only four Kings had previously won the Stanley Cup – Dustin Penner, Scuderi, Justin Williams and Colin Fraser, who didn't contribute much to Chicago's 2010 run. ... David Beckham, Matthew Perry, James Gandolfini, Alyssa Milano and My Chemical Romance attended the game. My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade" has become the black-jerseyed Kings' unofficial anthem after its incorporation into a clever pregame video featuring photos of several Kings as kids.

Madonna Flashes Nipple at Istanbul Concert

The queen of pop is known for crossing lines on and off stage. But she won't be claiming this slip of the nipple was a wardrobe malfunction: Madonna made it perfectly clear (see for yourself in the NSFW video, below) that she was deliberately flashing the crowd of roughly 55,000 people in Turkey's largest city.

The singer, 53, was performing a rendition of her 1995 hit, "Human Nature," when her dance routine turned into a strip tease. Her fans cheered for her as she began taking off her shirt and undoing her pants. The dance culminated in Madonna pulling down her bra to briefly expose her right breast. The singer is in the middle of her world tour, promoting her new album, MDNA.Nipplegate II is the second time the singer has stirred a controversy in just over a week - during the first night of her world tour to promote new album "MDNA" the singer flashed an image of France's National Front leader Marine Le Pen on video screens during her show with a swastika superimposed over the politician's forehead.

Le Pen has since vowed to sue the singer if she replays the image, according to the UK's Daily Mail Newspaper - especially if she does during her Paris show next month.

But perhaps Le Pen's comment about the stunt says it all: "We understand how old singers who need to get people talking about them go to such extremes."

Ireland 1-3 Croatia Full Highlights (Euro 2012 - Group C) All Goals & Highlights Video

The Republic of Ireland had yearned for a return to a grand tournament for the first time since the 2002 World Cup, but they fell behind in the second minute and, despite wholehearted effort, had to accept the superiority of Croatia. In view of encounters to come with Spain and Italy, the prospects have darkened. A result of this sort was cruel in its stern reminder of the challenges posed by an occasion of such importance.

There was a touch of altitude sickness in that early opener. The exasperation of the manager, Giovanni Trapattoni, could only be guessed at as Croatia took the lead with a disturbingly simple goal. Darijo Srna crossed from the right and a rather gentle header from Mario Mandzukic went past the goalkeeper, Shay Given.Everton striker Jelavic made it 2-1 just before the interval with a clever chipped finish after a sliced Ward clearance landed at his feet.

And the game was as good as over four minutes after the restart when a second Mandzukic header found the back off the net, this time via the head of the unlucky Given as the ball bounced back into play off the post.

The Irish regrouped and were denied what appeared a blatant penalty when Gordon Schildenfeld went through the back of Keane on the edge of the box.

However, even though the Republic's luck had deserted them, Croatia continued to look in control, technically superior and able to step up the pace if required.

They had chances to extend their lead, the best of which saw a fabulous sweeping move almost end with Ivan Rakitic firing just wide from 20 yards.

The Irish also had opportunities in the closing stages, but Keith Andrews screwed two shots wide and wasted a good headed chance.

Timothy Bradley defeats Manny Pacquiao

LAS VEGAS -- Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao put on an outstanding show, but it was the judges who will be the big story for the next week or so.

Timothy Bradley celebrates his controversial win over Manny Pacquiao. (Getty Images)
Pacquiao landed 94 more punches than Bradley according to CompuBox, but it was not enough as the judges stunningly awarded a split-decision win to Bradley, who lifted the World Boxing Organization welterweight title from Pacquiao with the victory.
"I thought I won the fight," said Bradley, who said he hurt his ankle in the second round. "I didn't think he was as good as everybody says he is. I didn't feel a lot of his power."
It was an excellent back-and-forth bout, but Pacquiao seemed to control it by landing more, landing at a higher percentage and landing the harder punches.
Judges C.J. Ross and Duane Ford had it for Bradley, 115-113. Jerry Roth had it for Pacquiao, 115-113. Bradley won the final round on all three cards which pulled out the bout for him.Pacquiao had vowed to look impressive against Bradley after struggling in his last outing with Juan Manuel Marquez, a fight many thought he lost. And he did early, landing good long left hands while beating Bradley to the punch on most exchanges.

"He hurt me a couple of times with his left," Bradley said. "He's a beast."

Trainer Freddie Roach told Pacquiao after the 10th round that he had control of the fight, and urged him to fight hard the final two rounds.

"You have six minutes to go, son," Roach said. "It's your fight."

But it wasn't Pacquiao's fight, with Bradley getting credit for winning some of the close middle and later rounds. After the 11th round Bradley went back to his corner and trainer Joel Diaz told him he needed to win the final round.

"I listened to my corner," Bradley said. "I got to give him a rematch now."

Arum said there will be one on Nov. 10, though he thought Pacquiao won easily, as did most writers at ringside.

"I'll make a lot of money off the rematch, but this was outrageous," Arum said.

It was the biggest fight of Bradley's career and it came with a minimum $5 million payday. The rematch will be even richer, though Pacquiao's loss could damage any plans for a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mayweather did not see the fight because he is serving a sentence on a domestic abuse charge at a jail a few miles from the MGM Grand.

Manuel Preciado Tragic death

Jose Mourinho, the Real Madrid manager, has led the tributes for Manuel Preciado, who died on Thursday morning just 24 hours after being named as the new Villarreal coach. He was 54. Relegated Villarreal announced on Wednesday that they had reached an agreement for Preciado to take charge of the club next season as they sought an immediate return to La Liga.

Preciado, who had parted company with former club Sporting Gijon in January, had been set to be presented as the Villarreal's new manager on Friday, but news broke on Thursday morning that the Cantabrian had died of heart attack overnight in Valencia.

Villarreal president Fernando Roig said: ''He was a great person for football. We are going to support his family and try to help them at this difficult time.'' Preciado, a native of the Cantabria region in northern Spain, began coaching in the third division in 1995. He led Levante from the second to the first division in the 2003-04 season, and also guided Sporting back to the topflight for the first time in ten years in 2007-08.

He coached Sporting for a total of five and a half seasons before a poor start last year led to him being fired midway through the season. Sporting did not recover and was relegated, along with Villarreal and Racing.

Preciado was a fan favorite in Gijon and one of the most charismatic managers in Spain, known for his frank and entertaining manner of addressing both press and players alike.

Preciado's 232 games for Sporting were second only to Jose Diaz Novoa's 282. Sporting said Preciado's name was "written into the history of the club in golden letters."

As a player, he also had stints with Mallorca, Alaves, Ourense, Linares and Gimnastic de Torrelavega.

Villarreal President Fernando Roig said the club will try to look after Preciado's family.

"We will give support to his family, and we will all try to respect their feelings and help them in this difficult moment," he said.

Preciado is a former player with several clubs including Racing Santander and had also previously coached teams including Racing, Levante, Murcia and Sporting Gijon.ints with Mallorca, Alaves, Ourense, Linares and Gimnastic de Torrelavega.

For Villarreal, the tragedy overshadows a dire season marked by injuries to key players, including striker Giuseppe Rossi, which saw it fall from playing in the Champions League to relegation that was confirmed in the closing minutes of the final round.

Queen 'humbled' by Diamond Jubilee celebrations

The Queen has called her Diamond Jubilee "a humbling experience", saying she had been "touched deeply" by seeing so many people celebrating together.

In a message to the nation, she thanked all those who organised the events.

Festivities culminated in an appearance by the senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony in front of huge crowds to watch an RAF flypast.

But the Queen's consort, Prince Philip, was absent from her side as he remains in hospital with a bladder infection.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited the Duke of Edinburgh on Tuesday afternoon."But Prince Philip and I want to take this opportunity to offer our special thanks and appreciation to all those who have had a hand in organising these Jubilee celebrations.

"It has been a massive challenge, and I am sure that everyone who has enjoyed these festive occasions realises how much work has been involved.

"I hope that memories of all this year's happy events will brighten our lives for many years to come. I will continue to treasure and draw inspiration from the countless kindnesses shown to me in this country and throughout the Commonwealth.

Barack Obama Sings Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is possibly 2012's most inescapable smash hit – even President Obama isn't safe from its clutches. In this video, Fadi Saleh, a.k.a. Barackdubs, mashes up the track with voice clips taken from various speeches, creating the illusion of the Commander in Chief singing along to the song. Saleh's meticulous mixing is impressive, with each word individually cut to match the instrumental, creating an outlandish and charming version of an already endearing track.

Canadian Psycho Luka Magnotta Arrested in Germany

Luka Rocco Magnotta, Canada’s most-wanted fugitive, was arrested in Berlin on Monday, less than a week after international police launched a worldwide manhunt for the alleged killer from Montreal.

A Berlin police spokesman told The Canadian Press that Magnotta was arrested at about 2 p.m. local time in or near an Internet cafe in the German capital. Montreal police later confirmed his capture.

Magnotta, 29, is facing five charges in Montreal, including first-degree murder, in the brutal slaying and dismemberment of Jun Lin, a Chinese national who was studying at Concordia University.

Lin’s torso was found packed inside a suitcase on a Montreal curb outside Magnotta’s apartment building last Tuesday. Other body parts, including a hand and foot, were mailed to the offices of political parties in Ottawa.German police spokesman Thomas Neuendorf told CBC News that Berlin authorities have arrested Magnotta.

Magnotta, dubbed the "Butcher of Montreal" by European media, was spotted in Paris on the weekend, at a local café and in a hotel.

The Montreal man is wanted in connection with the murder and dismemberment of 33-year-old Chinese student Jun Lin. Parts of Lin's remains were discovered last week after they were sent to the federal Liberal and Conservative parties in Ottawa.Authorities in Canada had issued a countrywide arrest warrant for Magnotta and he was added to Interpol's list of wanted persons. Magnotta faces charges of first-degree murder, committing an indignity on a dead body, publishing obscene material, mailing "obscene, indecent, immoral or scurrilous" material and criminally harassing Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and several unnamed members of Parliament, police said.

Investigators believe Magnotta initially flew to France from Montreal after committing the murder. Brigitte Kuster, mayor of Paris's 17th district, said Magnotta was caught on surveillance video at a restaurant and possibly a hotel in the city over the weekend.

Miss USA 2012 Is Rhode Island's Olivia Culpo

Miss Rhode Island is now Miss USA. Olivia Culpo, who represented the smallest state in the country, was named Miss USA 2012 on Sunday night, winning the pageant in Las Vegas. In the final round, Culpo had to answer a question from Twitter, a first for the pageant, which was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. She was asked, “Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?"

She took a pause and said that she has embraced the Miss Universe Organization’s decision to allow transgender competitors to compete in the pageant. "I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women, but today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it's a free country," she told the audience.Culpo follows Alyssa Campanella and will represent the United States at Miss Universe in December.

If Culpo can't fulfill her duties, she will be replaced by Miss Maryland, Nana Meriwether, who was the runner-up.

Judges included Rob Kardashian, Joe Jonas, Chef Cat Cora, Arsenio Hall, and Mary Lou Henner.

For the fifth year in a row, the Donald Trump-owned contest was held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Culpo was established as the odds-on favorite by the Wynn Las Vegas sports book prior to the competition at 9 to 1 odds.

Nigeria Plane Crash Kills 153

LAGOS, Nigeria — A commercial airliner crashed into a densely populated neighborhood in Nigeria's largest city on Sunday, killing all 153 people on board and others on the ground in the worst air disaster in nearly two decades for the troubled nation.

The cause of the Dana Air crash remained unknown Sunday night, as firefighters and police struggled to put out the flames around the wreckage of the Boeing MD83 aircraft. Authorities could not control the crowd of thousands gathered around to see the crash site, with some crawling over the plane's broken wings and standing on a still-smoldering landing gear.

Harold Demuren, the director-general of Nigeria's Civil Aviation Authority, said all on board the flight were killed in the crash. Lagos state government said in a statement that 153 people were on the flight traveling from Nigeria's central capital of Abuja to Lagos in the nation's southwest. The Dana Air flight destined for Lagos from Abuja crashed in the early afternoon into a building, said Akande Iyiola, zone coordinator with the emergency management agency. The neighborhood was about five miles from the city's airport, said Abbah.

The crash triggered three house fires, said Labaran Ahmed, a rescue officer with the agency.

Speaking to CNN around 6:15 p.m., Sidi described the scene as "devastation."A military helicopter flew overhead. The sound of the crowd was also occasionally punctuated by the noise of aircraft still landing at the airport.

Lagos' international airport is a major hub for West Africa and saw 2.3 million passengers pass through it in 2009, according to the most recent statistics provided by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

In August 2010, the U.S. announced it had given Nigeria the FAA's Category 1 status, its top safety rating that allows the nation's domestic carriers to fly directly to the U.S.

The Nigerian government said it also now has full radar coverage of the entire nation. However, in a nation where the state-run electricity company is in tatters, state power and diesel generators sometimes both fail at airports, making radar screens go blank.

Toronto Eaton Centre Mall Shooting

A gunman fired shots in a busy food court in one of Canada's busiest malls Saturday killing one man and injuring eight, police said.

Toronto police constable Victor Kwong said two people were in critical condition. He said the person who was killed died at the scene. Some of the injuries came when people were trampled on and pushed. He said the suspect had not been apprehended.

Witnesses said multiple shots were fired in the food court in Toronto's downtown Eaton Centre and that hundreds of panicked shoppers sprinted for the exits. The mall was evacuated.

Swarms of people watched from outside as an injured man with visible bullet wounds was wheeled out on a stretcher."All of a sudden a herd of people were just running toward us, a massive crowd of people screaming, running, freaking out," said Hannah Stewart, 21, who was shopping in the mall at the time. "We saw this girl, sitting on the ground, and she had blood on her toes."

That girl appeared to have been one of the victims and told Stewart she had just been shot.

At that point, police poured into the centre and began herding people outside.

"All these cops came running up and they started screaming at us to back off," Stewart said. "They were screaming at us to run and get out.”

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie was also in the mall when the shooting took place and was one of the first to take to Twitter to break the news.

"Pretty sure someone just let off a round bullets in eaton center mall .. Wow just sprinted out of the mall," he tweeted. "People sprinting up the stairs right from where we just were ... Wow."This shooting was not only wanton and incredibly dangerous, but also reckless as to the safety of others," Blair said, adding that he does not know where the suspect might have fled.

Police are talking to witnesses and scouring video evidence of the shooting, which took place in the food court area. They were first alerted to the incident shortly before 6:30 p.m. ET.

"It's terrible when you hear something like this. My heart goes out to the families that have been affected by this terrible crime," said Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

A call to the mall confirmed that the shopping center was on lockdown. No other details were available.

Egypt: Hosni Mubarak gets life imprisonment

Cairo: Egypt's former president Hosni Mubarak has been found guilty of conspiracy in the killing of protesters during last year's uprising and has been given life imprisonment.

Mubarak, who was ferried to court on a stretcher by helicopter from hospital, was silent as Judge Ahmed Refaat handed down the life sentence to the 84-year-old former leader.

Crowd outside the court shouted as they watched the court proceedings live on a giant screen.

Judge Ahmed Refaat also praised martyrs in Tahrir Square and said the court’s objective was to show the truth. Reports say that 60,000 pages of evidence were given. The judge further described the trial as a fair one.

Mubarak (84), along with former interior minister Habib al-Adly and six others, was on trial for ordering the deaths of some of the estimated 850 people.

The case also includes former president's sons, Alaa and Gamal. They are accused of killing peaceful protesters and wasting public funds.

Johan Santana Throws A No Hitter!

With 134 pitches Friday night, Johan Santana did what no other pitcher in the New York Mets’ 51-year history was able to do: He tossed a no-hitter. The St. Louis Cardinals were the victims in the 8-0 win that meant as much to the ace lefthander as it did to his team.

Given the fact that the Mets were one of only two major league franchises never to have had a no-hitter—the San Diego Padres still are on the clock—it is tough to decide whether the accomplishment is bigger for Santana or the franchise.Through eight innings, Santana had thrown 122 pitches while striking out seven and walking five. He faced the heart of the Cardinals' order in the top of the ninth, retiring Matt Holiday, Allen Craig and David Freese to make history in Queens.

Mexico vs Bosnia 2-1 Gol del Chicharito Hdz.

On a rainy Thursday night in Chicago, Mexico and Bosnia-Herzegovina played to an entertaining 2-1 win for Mexico after a goal in second-half injury time by Javier Hernandez. Unlike many matches for Mexico in the United States, this friendly featured a significant number of Bosnian fans, which certainly helped the atmosphere. Likewise, both teams showed good play and seemed eager to get a result.

Mexico began the match well as forward Aldo de Nigris beat defender Sanel Jahic just inside the box with a mix of luck and skill when Jahic slipped a bit on the slick field. De Nigris tried a speculative shot from an unfavorable angle at Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, and the resulting save produced a rebound. Giovani dos Santos was in perfect position for the ball and tapped it in the net to put Mexico up 1-0 in the sixth minute. Both Andres Guardado and Hernandez made half-hour cameos in their respective returns from injury. Seconds before Chicharito entered the game, De Nigris scored from a fractionally offside position. Hernandez's strike half an hour later stood up. Ognjen Vranjes attempted a bicycle kick to clear the ball out of his box. Instead it trickled invitingly in front of his goalmouth, where Hernandez reacted quickest to score.

The international friendly was the second of three for El Tri in the United States. Previously, Mexico beat Wales 2-0 in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. It will play Brazil in Dallas on June 3.
